Events and special event weekends during 2011

New Year Jan 1,2,3^rd First day of the year railway operation, for members to

let off steam !! following the yuletide festivities.

Jan 28^th, 29^th and 30^th. Friday to Sunday work party weekends. Sleeper replacement to Far Leys.

Bacon sarnies for all who attend, plenty of ‘light’ work to do so please attend.

Feb 25^th, 26^th and 27^th. Friday to Sunday work party weekends. Sleeper replacement to Far Leys.

March 12& 13^th EWR Annual General Meeting.

To be held in the Education Centre Kingsbury Water Park On

Saturday morning at 1030hrs, followed by a members running

weekend, with evening buffet supper ,menu to be arranged.

April 22,23,24,25^th Easter Bank holiday Week end, commencement of the

summer running Timetable, Every Sunday until the end of

September.

Members only Buffet to be arranged for Saturday, menu to be

decided.

April30th/May 1,2nd. May Bank holiday Weekend, Railway operating Saturday

Sunday, Monday.

Members only Buffet to be arranged for Sunday menu to be

decided

May 21, 22nd. Miniature Traction Engine gathering,

Miniature steam road vehicles will be operating in the park and

road network, giving visitor the opportunity to ride on and talk to

the owners / drivers.

Echills Wood Railway will be operating.

Members & visitors only Buffet supper for Saturday menu to be

decided.

May 28 29 30th. Spring Bank holiday Weekend, Railway operating Saturday,

Sunday, Monday.

Members only Buffet supper on Saturday, menu to be decided.

June 18, 19^th. Standard Gauge Steam and Diesel event.

All locomotives and rolling stock operating will be models

based upon railways with a standard gauge of four foot eight and

a half inches.

Members & visitors only Buffet supper on Saturday,

Fish & Chip supper

(supported by ATLANTIC fish shop Kingsbury )

July 29^th /Aug 6th Kingsbury 71/4” Gauge Week,

An invitation week for 71/4 society and 16mm members to

operate their locomotives and rolling stock, with intensive rail

operation and passenger hauling for those members that wish, or a

week of playing trains with like minded members !!!

Members and visitors Hog roast supper, on Wednesday evening.

Aug 27,28,29^th. Bank Holiday Weekend, Railway operating Saturday Sunday,

Monday.

Members only, Buffet supper on Sunday, menu to be decided.

Sept 17,18th, Narrow gauge Weekend

Locomotives operating, will be models based upon those lines

throughout the world that that have a gauge less than 4` 81/2”.

Members & visitors Evening Buffet Saturday

Oct 29^th. Halloween Evening Train rides,

Railway will be operating into the evening with spooky rides,

and a Halloween costume competion, judging at 1630hrs and

1830hrs.

Members only Saturday buffet supper, soup and hot dogs

Dec Santa’s Specials,

The railway will be operating a Santa Service to the Grotto to

visit Santa, and normal passenger trains within the operating

time table.

All Santa tickets MUST be booked before 15th Nov 2011,

Visiting locomotives are welcome on all of the above events but must be booked in three weeks prior to the date of arrival, 71/4 members wishing to attend the invitation week in July are requested to complete a visitors form (available on our website www.ewr.org.uk ) we are unable to cater for locomotives that have not been pre booked, the usual current boiler certificates and insurance information must be produced prior to unloading.
