Railway opening dates and Special Events.
Winter Timetable Continues from Monday 1st January until Sunday 25th March
Continuation of regular Sunday Passenger service, with trains operating between 11am until 3:00pm. Subject to daily staffing levels and weather conditions. Closing times will be at the discretion of the Duty Controller each day
During the winter time table, the railway WILL BE CLOSED AS BELOW, due to essential permanent way work and rolling stock maintenance. Passengers are advised to check this EWR website for the latest train operating information.
Members & Public operating Xmas Week & New Years day.
We will NOT be running during the school holidays on Wed 27th, Fri 29th and Sun 31st December. We will be open on New Year's Day - 1st Jan 2018 subject to Staff Availability and Weather.
Railway Essential Maintenance Closure
The railway will be closed During January 2018, from Thursday 4th Jan until the end of February for essential maintenance of locomotives, rolling stock and permanent way. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Summer Operating Timetable Commences Monday 26th March.
Passenger trains will operate every Sunday throughout the summer period. During Warwickshire school holidays, a service will operate on Wednesdays and a limited service on Fridays, 11am until 4:00pm. Subject to daily weather conditions and staff availability. Closing times will be at the discretion on the Duty Controller each day.
Easter Bank Holiday.
March 30th 31st April 1st 2nd - Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Public Passenger Trains will run during these dates between 11am until 4:00pm
Echills Wood Railway Members Annual General Meeting Saturday 14th April.
The Meeting will be held in the Education Centre at Kingsbury Water Park, 10:00am for a 10:15am prompt start, followed by a member’s afternoon running session, no public operations. (Further details to be made available at a later date) Members of the public will not be admitted to the meeting.
Early May Bank Holiday.
May 5th 6th 7th. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Public Passenger trains operating on these dates between 11am and 4:00pm.
Miniature Traction Engine Gathering. Click Here
May 18th 19th 20th Miniature steam road vehicles will be gathering by the stations at Harvesters and Far Leys, their operating area will be on the park road network giving the public the opportunity to have a ride and talk to the drivers /owners. It is hoped to have a full size traction engines at Harvesters Station in steam, on static display. The railway will be operating public passenger trains during Saturday & Sunday From 11am until 4:00pm.
(Visitors with traction engines may arrive from Friday 18th, with caravan parking facilities available at Far Leys.)
Spring Bank Holiday.
May 26th 27th 28th Saturday, Sunday, Monday Public Passenger Trains will operate during these days between 11am and 4-00pm, Why not have a picnic in the park by the railway stations and just watch the trains go by!
Standard Gauge Steam and Diesel Event. Click Here
July 13th 14th 15th 16th. This event is open to members, friends, visitors and 7 1/4”gauge members who are owners and drivers of standard gauge locos. All locomotives and rolling stock operating over this weekend will be models based upon railways with a standard gauge of four foot eight and a half inches. Featuring visiting and locomotives based at the EWR. These are models of locomotives that once steamed along the railway lines of the UK and other countries, including express trains, goods and parcel trains. Public passenger trains will operating on Sunday 15th July until 4:00pm (Advanced booking for visiting locomotives advisable. Visitors may arrive from Friday 13th. Caravan parking may be available at Far Leys.)

Our very popular Santa special train application forms for tickets will be available online from this date at www.ewr-marketing.org or www.ewr.org.uk together with seat availability on all trains and dates. Application forms will also be available at the booking office. Passengers wishing to see Santa are advised to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment. During 2017, trains were fully booked by early October !!!
August Bank Holiday.
August 25th 26th 27th Public Passenger trains on Saturday, Sunday, Monday will operate between 11am till 4:00pm.

September 14th 15th 16th This event is open to members, friends, visitors and 7 1/4”gauge members who are owners and drivers of narrow gauge locos. All locomotives and rolling stock operating over this weekend will be models based upon railways throughout the world that have a gauge of less than 4`8 1/2”. Public passenger trains will be operating on Sunday 16th until 4:00pm
(Advanced booking for visiting locomotives advisable. Visiting locomotives may arrive from Friday 14th. Caravan parking may be available at Far Leys.)
Halloween Evening Train Rides. Click Here
October Saturday 27th The railway will be operating from 2pm till 8pm, into the evening with spooky rides and a free children’s Halloween fancy dress competition, with judging at 5-30pm. Winners of the competition will have a complimentary railway ticket. When using the complimentary ticket, children must be accompanied by a fare paying adult. Hot refreshments will be available from 2:00pm at Harvesters Station.

All public passenger trains on regular operating days will commence at 11am until 15:00pm.

December 1st 2nd - 8th 9th For the first two weekends in December the railway will be operating the popular Santa service to the grotto to visit Santa, along with regular passenger trains operating within the timetable. Your Santa tickets will entitle passengers to unlimited rides on the regular passenger trains. Or just come along and have a train ride at £2-00 return and enjoy the atmosphere.
Do not leave it too late to book your Santa tickets, most of our trains were fully booked by early October last year. From Sunday 2nd September and following Sundays, Santa tickets may be booked subject to availability, direct at Harvesters Station. All Santa tickets MUST be booked before 1st November 2018.
Application forms are available from the station booking offices or may be downloaded from our website www.ewr-marketing.org or www.ewr.org.uk . These are updated regularly with information regarding Santa’s trains and seat availability.
Station Masters Garden Railway. Click Here
During our running days and events, our very popular 32mm and 45mm gauge ‘Station Masters Garden railway’ will be operating with a variety of live steam, battery powered and electric large scale model trains. If you have an interest or wish to join the garden railway, please do not hesitate to contact one of the group. The model railway adjoins Harvesters Station, near the lake side and may be accessed from the road just after the level crossing, or from the footpath near the signal gantry if coming from the main car park. For the benefit of all members, the first Wednesday of each month during the months of March to November, and also the second Saturday during the year, will be members and friends days, with no public passenger service.
